Turning Subcontracting and Precision Manufacturing

Turning, the main process carried out by Brema Srl, is a chip-removal process that allows the material to be shaped into round or profiled bars with a thickness ranging from 3 to 35 mm. Turning can be combined with other processes required to produce the finished component.

Milling enables us not only to carefully smooth and level the surface of the component, but also to produce profiles and surfaces with specific characteristics, surface roughness and tolerances. This operation is carried out, where specified in the design, as part of the machining cycle required to produce the finished part.

Boring allows the component to be finished, particularly with regard to the diameter and shape of the bore; it also enables details to be engraved into the bore, such as guide lines for threads. This operation can also be integrated with the other machining processes required to produce the finished component.

Even with the precision of CNC machinery, it is extremely important to carry out finishing work and align the various surfaces, including holes: reaming is specifically used to correct axial misalignment and other minor deformations, forming part of the overall process of manufacturing the component.

Using a rotating tool known as a ‘tap’, we can create precise threads tailored to the customer’s requirements: in addition to the component’s pitch, we also take the hole dimensions into account. Tapping is carried out as part of the production cycle when required by the specifications of the part to be manufactured.
