Reaming
Reaming for Precision Small Parts
Brema Srl, a precision workshop based in Fara Gera d’Adda, provides a wide range of machining and finishing operations for small industrial parts made of metal or plastic. Among our processes, reaming is used to correct hole alignment, diameter, and surface finish. With advanced CNC equipment and highly skilled technicians, we produce accurate and reliable components, free from defects that could affect performance or cause distortion. 📞 Contact us for more information or a consultation on both prototypes and high-volume production. We work with companies across Italy and throughout Europe.
How Reaming Works
Reaming is often mistaken for boring, but the two processes differ significantly in purpose and method: boring is used to enlarge a hole, while reaming corrects deformations and fine-tunes axiality and diameter with a high level of precision. This operation can be performed on a wide variety of materials, including: – alloy steels – standard and special aluminium alloys – copper, bronze, brass, and ECOBRASS – Teflon, PVC, nylon, and other technical plastics Reaming can be applied to both blind holes and through holes. In the latter case, the workpiece is flipped to allow the tool to reach the opposite side. Thanks to the constant lubrication provided by CNC lathes, reaming can also be carried out on slightly inclined or contoured surfaces.
