Tapping
Precision Tapping for Threaded Components
Brema Srl performs high-precision internal threading on holes and cavities using tapping, a key process for the creation of seats for screws, bolts, and pins. With specialized tools known as taps and the use of CNC machines equipped with automatic tap holders, we produce reliable and accurate helical threads that match perfectly with mating parts. Our technicians carefully assess drawings and tolerances to ensure optimal results, even on plastic materials or special alloys. 📩 We work with companies throughout Italy and Europe. How Tapping Works
Tapping is a machining process used to create internal helical threads in holes and cavities, allowing for the secure fastening of screws, pins, and other threaded components. The process is carried out with a cylindrical tool called a tap, which cuts the wall of the hole to form a spiral thread. Tapping can be performed manually or with CNC lathes, using specialized automatic tap holders. To ensure reliable and compatible threading, it’s crucial to know the hole’s diameter, depth, tolerance, and the pitch of the mating part — these factors directly influence the accuracy and effectiveness of the result.
